Chuma na Uchizi

Chuma na Uchizi (Health & Wealth) was a pilot study to test an asset-building intervention to improve economic and health outcomes of people living with HIV (PLHIV) receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART) in Zambia. Key outcomes included medication adherence, access to food, dietary intake, asset ownership, and psychosocial functioning (e.g., self-efficacy and hope for the future). The project was implemented in partnership with UNC Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), UNC School of Social Work, the Ministry of Health in Zambia (MOH), the Office of District Medical Officer in Lundazi, and Lundazi District and Lumezi Mission Hospitals.

For detailed information about the study, see the Chuma na Uchizi site on our Initiatives page.
