Exploring the ICS Framework for Identifying Vulnerability and Marginalization among Youth in LMICs
About the Event: This event will be conducted as a workshop to solicit feedback from UNC School of Social Work students on the Intrinsic, Contextual, and Structural Analytical Framework (pg. 43-44) developed by GSDI researchers and staff. This framework represents a first critical step toward shifting conceptions of vulnerability. It’s purpose is intended to enable practitioners’ and researchers’ to identify what vulnerability is in different contexts and cultures and to best inform targeted programming.
We are especially curious to learn your insights to the following questions: What is important to young people when determining vulnerability and marginalization? What role does development (i.e. age) play in the framework? In what ways might young people want to be engaged in developing a framework? What indicators or measures could be used to determine vulnerability and marginalization among youth?
