Dr. Sheri Weiser

Dr. Sheri Weiser, MD, MPH, MA, is an internist, and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Division of HIV, ID and Global Medicine at UCSF. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Masters degrees from Harvard University and University of California, Berkeley, and completed her residency training in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Her research program focuses on how food insecurity and other structural factors impact treatment outcomes for HIV and other chronic diseases, with a particular focus on food security interventions as a way to improve health outcomes both domestically and internationally. She has published over 100 manuscripts on this and similar topics, and has been the principal investigator on over 20 research grants in the area.
