Suresh Pathare, the Director of the Center for Studies in Rural Development (CSRD) and Institute of Social Work and Research, Ahmednaar, India, is also a professor of Social Work and Community Development. Dr. Pathare is Chairperson of the Board of Studies in Social Work at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and Secretary of National Association of Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI). He served as assistant professor at University of Delhi and Associate professor at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Dr. Pathare has academic interest in participatory Research and Participatory approaches to Community Development. He has initiated academic discourses in India on Spirituality and social work and he organizes annual international conference on this theme. He is editor of ‘Journal of Development and social Justice’ and has authored or co-authored five books and about 30 articles on the topics of interest.
