Women of color, particularly those impacted by poverty are at heightened risk for HIV infection both locally and globally. Low income HIV+ women of color demonstrate a high need for medical services, but evidence low treatment adherence. Previous research has focused on people of color overall.
Very little gender specific research has been conducted.
